Teppei Neru

Neru has small, round brown eyes and a lean, muscled frame. His hair, blond in the manga and light grey in the anime, grows long and sweeps upward into two big prongs. For the national side he pulls on the U-20 strip, a white jersey cut with bold red stripes and his number four, white shorts trimmed in red at the hem, a black undershirt, and gloves.

Away from the pressure of a match, Neru carries a light, humorous streak.

Neru fits the no-nonsense full-back mould, a defender who plays to his strengths, sticks to his guarding duties, and rarely pushes up to attack. His edge is raw speed: Isagi called him lightning fast, yet it is his lightning reaction time that truly counts, letting him read an attacker's direction in an instant and then use his physical pace to close the gap. That blend let him shut down Kenyu Yukimiya, a noted one-on-one dribbler, with little trouble, though he can be undone when two or more attackers come at him and his response lands a beat too late.

He also owns explosive acceleration, which lets him burst back onto an attacker who has slipped past and pounce on the loose ball to win it back.
