Yo Hiori

Slim and tall at 183 centimeters, Hiori carries a build closer to lithe than muscular. Pale sky-blue eyes, wide and rounded, sit beneath a fringe of the same cyan shade that spills across his face, most of it swept to the sides with one longer lock left hanging. His gentle, almost delicate features have prompted fans to liken him to Hyoma Chigiri.

Inside the facility he wears the standard black bodysuit striped in gray along with the issued tracksuit. His jerseys have shifted with each stage: number 27 under Team Red and Team A, the blue number 16 when the Blue Lock Eleven faced Japan's U-20 side, and the red, black and gold number 23 of Bastard München during the run against Ubers.

Courteous and quick to help, Hiori proved friendly toward Isagi and Nanase, feeding them reads after their match and coaching Isagi mid-game. He has a knack for reducing tangled ideas to plain comparisons, often reaching for video-game logic, and he prizes calm above all, threading precise passes through heavy pressure without his composure cracking. A devoted gamer, he treats a football pitch much like a fast tile-matching puzzle.

His reason for entering Blue Lock was escape. The match against Ubers finally flipped his outlook: he now chases the goal of building the world's best striker, someone able to read his passes, and vows to leave the 'unambitious losers' behind. Kenyu Yukimiya has likened the size of his ego to Sae Itoshi's.

Hiori operates as a deep-lying playmaker whose composure and sight let him orchestrate attacks rather than force them. His constant scanning maps every teammate and gap, so he can collect the ball in space and release it into space just as easily, a habit that built an almost telepathic passing rhythm with Rin. Isagi dubbed him a 'Technician of Stillness' for pairing that vision with clean, ambidextrous ball control.

His touch supports one-touch and first-touch distribution, sole-of-the-foot traps, rabonas, hyper-fast scissor feints and slippery close-quarters dribbling that keeps its cool amid a crowd. His passing arsenal spans whipped crosses, outside-of-the-boot deliveries, two-stage fakes and no-look alley balls, all weighted for a receiver rather than a mark.
