A flashback shows how Chris Prince and the analyst Agi began rebuilding Nagi from zero, teaching him the difference between passive and active pain, before Nagi's fresh juggling shot meets Yukimiya's block.
Twenty days before the match, Chris asks Nagi what his ideal soccer looks like. Nagi only knows he wants to beat Isagi and cannot say more, confessing he has never really weighed tactics or aimed to be the world's best, having always leaned on Reo or Isagi to supply his passes. Analyzing him, Chris finds that Nagi's trapping works by loosening his body into a cushion, a fluidity and elasticity greater than Chris's own, yet paired with almost no creativity and a game of pure dependence built on split second reactions.
Agi walks in, intrigued by Nagi, and offers to help train him. When Nagi asks who he is, Agi calls himself a lover of rare creatures, and Chris labels him a pathological analyst nicknamed the doctor. Agi proposes a trap that lets Nagi rebuild from nothing, and Chris agrees it could birth Nagi's own style.
Agi explains two kinds of pain: passive pain, the burden of doing something you would rather avoid, and active pain, the strain of chasing something you genuinely want, which is the kind that spurs growth.
Back on the pitch, Isagi reads Nagi's new trap as a tool to choke the flow of play. Agi leaps to gather a pass with his long limbs, drawing a mid air demon remark from Gagamaru, then converts a fierce strike into a feed for Nagi. A defender insists Nagi cannot shoot without time to land, but Nagi answers that he needs none and fires a juggling shot at goal. Yukimiya throws his head into the ball, knocking his glasses off as it clears the bar, and Nagi tells him he has guts, adding that he is now under development.
Nagi's freshly forming style of play remains under development.
Nagi unleashes a juggling shot that Yukimiya heads away.
