Summary
Kaiser doubles down on cutting Ness loose. Ness protests that he still wants to lift Kaiser to the summit of the sport, but Kaiser tells him to look around at rivals staking their lives on this war of egos, sneering that gutless followers should disappear. Reduced to tears, Ness admits he has no purpose beyond serving Kaiser, who coldly answers that he has no use for anyone unable to keep pace. He declares that he and Isagi are the ones breaking new ground. Watching from a distance, Isagi concludes that Ness's gift has gone stale.
Elsewhere, Rin surveys his own predicament and judges it dire. He still burns to crush Isagi, yet any reckless lunge would hand Isagi a counter. He decides he needs a fiercer destructive drive to bring Isagi down. From Jin Kiyora's throw-in, Isagi collects the ball and feeds Kaiser, while Rin plants himself in Isagi's path but keeps his distance.
