Still level at 2-2, Rin unveils a four-meter shadowing strategy to smother Isagi, only for Kaiser to crash the party and prove that when it comes to brute physical contact, his brutal past gives him the edge.
After Rin blocks Isagi's attempt, Charles gathers the loose ball and clears it far upfield to Aoshi Tokimitsu, who, pinned by Mensah, lays it off to Nanase. Isagi and Rin both sprint toward the far end, Isagi puzzling over how Rin stopped a play he and Kaiser improvised. Pulling ahead, Rin reveals that he has memorized every one of Isagi's physical specs and intends to lock himself within four meters of him, confident he can reflexively neutralize anything Isagi tries inside that zone. Splitting Isagi from Kaiser was his aim all along.
Isagi resolves to fight Rin inside those four meters. Rin, meanwhile, relishes the chase, wanting to shred Isagi's thoughts, dreams, and everything he holds dear. Play develops as Nanase feeds Karasu, who passes to a weary Zantetsu, who shields the ball from Hiori and finds Charles. Charles eyes Rin near the goal and appears to pass to him, but the ball curves and turns out to be meant for Shido. Kiyora cuts across Shido's path while Kunigami slams into him from the side. Declaring himself a contrarian, Shido declines to shoot and slides the ball across to Rin.
Isagi keeps grappling with Rin as Rin gains possession thirty-three meters out, aware they are closing on his range. Sensing Rin means to bulldoze him to open a shooting lane, Isagi braces, but Kaiser barges in instead. Rin brands them both lukewarm, admitting he had been waiting for exactly this. He confirms he wanted to collide with Kaiser the whole time. Kaiser counters that he has trained in physical combat since childhood, flashing a memory of himself flooring policemen, a glimpse caught in a rose petal's reflection. Spinning through the air, he calls himself scum raised far rougher than most, then knocks the ball clear of Rin as Isagi hails him a superstar.
Charles ignites a sharp counterattack. Rin tells Isagi he has studied his specs and believes he can answer anything within a four-meter radius. Charles feints a pass to Rin and instead reaches Shido, who feeds Rin once blocked. Expecting Rin to ram Isagi, the play flips when Kaiser intervenes and Rin admits Kaiser was the real target. Kaiser claims superior physical dueling and clears the danger.
