Summary

In a flashback set before Blue Lock began, Nagi recalls how Reo discovered him and pulled him into soccer. He accepts that he must become someone new, understanding that unless he can picture himself standing atop the sport, both he and Reo are finished. On the pitch, Nagi passes to Reo at kickoff, calling him boss as Reo urges them to blast off. Dribbling forward, Reo weighs their salary ranks, Nagi at eleventh and himself at sixteenth, aware they must prove themselves to crack the top twenty-three for the Japan U-20 squad.

As Reo slips past a Barcha defender, Eita Otoya remarks to Bachira on Nagi's altered play. The choice surprises Otoya when Reo feeds Chigiri rather than Nagi, since Chigiri has hit his golden zone. Praising Reo's vision, Chigiri drives the ball home for the match's opening goal.

Attention shifts to the Bastard München versus Paris X Gen game, where Jinpachi Ego appears onscreen to congratulate the winners. He notes that the Barcha match has just wrapped as well, so the final salary reveal will begin, live-streamed to every team. As numbers fill the board, Isagi tells himself that anything short of first place is meaningless. Rin's name lands at number one with a bid of two hundred forty million yen. Head bowed in disappointment, Isagi is called a numbskull by Rin, who tells him to look up. Realizing he shares the top spot at the same figure, Isagi screams with joy as Rin muses that the world wants them to be rivals, while Kaiser sits slumped on the turf.
