The seventy third chapter kicks off the fourth stage bout of the Second Selection. Team Red and Team White trade opening moves in a four on four, and a burst of raw speed decides who strikes first.
The fourth stage duel of the Second Selection begins between Team Red, formed by Rin Itoshi, Jyubei Aryu, Aoshi Tokimitsu, and Meguru Bachira, and Team White, fielding Seishiro Nagi, Yoichi Isagi, Shoei Baro, and Hyoma Chigiri. From the kickoff Rin feeds Bachira, who scans the pitch and chains rapid scissors, a deep feint, and a hook turn while trying to shake Isagi. Isagi reads it and holds firm, prompting Baro to rush in and double up on Bachira. When Tokimitsu calls for the ball, Isagi steps across to intercept, souring Baro's mood and tipping Bachira off to their disruptive, anti combination approach.
Isagi releases the ball to Nagi, who asks for a lofted feed as he charges the goal. Spotting Rin poised to pounce the moment he traps it, Nagi instead cushions the ball into a side pass for Chigiri. Aryu, Rin, and Chigiri all sprint after it, but Chigiri arrives first, leaping ahead of the pack to bury the match's opening goal.
In Blue Lock Chapter 73, Hyoma Chigiri scores the opening goal of the fourth stage match. He outruns Jyubei Aryu and Rin Itoshi to bury a side pass from Seishiro Nagi, putting Team White ahead 1-0.
