Chapter 85

The scene rewinds eight seconds before Isagi stopped Bachira's shot. Isagi weighs that Rin sits in an ideal spot to receive a pass, yet rather than split his focus on a coin-flip chance, he stakes everything on Bachira choosing to shoot himself instead of passing.

Back in the moment, Bachira's effort clips Isagi's shin and balloons into the air, dropping right in front of Rin, who traps it and slots home the goal that wins it for Team Red. Isagi crumples and hammers his fist into the turf, while Tokimitsu leaps onto Aryu in celebration.

Bachira starts toward Isagi, but Rin announces that he will decide which player joins their team. He admits that the final play was one he could not read at all, handing him his first taste of defeat since arriving at the facility. Declaring that he now has one more person he intends to crush and refuses to let sink here, Rin tells Isagi he will stay closest to him while watching him become the best in the world.

Isagi's attempt to block Bachira sends the ball toward Rin, who converts the winning goal. Team Red takes the match five to four, and Rin selects Isagi as the player he wants added to their side.
