Dating Denji arc

Set across chapters 112 through 120, this story follows the Justice Devil arc and leads into the Falling Devil events. It deepens the strange triangle between Asa, Yoru, and Denji, brings back the Eternity Devil as an obstacle, and ends with Nayuta forcibly severing the budding relationship.

After the upheaval at Fourth East School, Asa meets the Devil Hunter Club leadership, including the one-eyed Seigi Akoku, president Haruka Iseumi, and a mysterious hunter who revived Yuko. Yoru takes over and learns from Haruka that the Chainsaw Devil may be a club member, shown by a ripcord jutting from his chest like Denji's. Convinced she needs a stronger weapon to win, Yoru decides to sacrifice a worthless human and settles on Denji after watching his selfish behavior.

Asa asks Denji out, but the date is a catastrophe as he grows bored with her rambling trivia and wanders off to find the penguins. The mysterious hunter then reveals herself as Fami, the Famine Devil, declaring the pair will stay trapped until Denji becomes a weapon. Denji recognizes the work of the Eternity Devil, and the two join Haruka, Seigi, and Yoshida in a staff lounge stocked with supplies, though Asa accidentally smashes her phone and cuts off any outside contact.

Haruka admits to Asa that he is merely a Chainsaw Man superfan. Retreating to a starfish tank, a hungry Asa apologizes while Denji helps her eat the starfish, and her funny reactions lift his mood. Asa then gathers over a million yen across the aquarium, symbolically buys the building, and channels her guilt over ruining it into a powerful spear that destroys the Eternity Devil in a single strike.

Denji walks Asa home, says he enjoyed himself, and arranges a second outing. Yoru senses Asa's growing feelings and tries to transform Denji, but the attempt fails. The next day the pair head to Denji's house for a VHS movie marathon, where Yoru ignores the no-kissing rule and kisses him, again failing to make a weapon. Nayuta interrupts, using her Control Devil powers to make Yoru behave like a dog, and demands Denji stop seeing Asa. He agrees, and Nayuta wipes Asa and Yoru's memories before returning them to school, leaving them to believe they were stood up. Yoshida then approaches Asa for company. The arc introduces Haruka Iseumi and Nobana Higashiyama.
