Accident Devil

Character

The Accident Devil gives form to the concept of accidents, above all the violent collisions of vehicles. Summoned during the clash between Yoru and the Chainsaw Devil, it serves the War Devil as a living weapon rather than acting on any will of its own.

Appearance

Wreckage defines this devil's body. Crushed automobiles, broken metal shards, and industrial debris heap together into a jagged, chaotic mass full of sharp and uneven planes that evoke the aftermath of brutal crashes. Low on that pile sits a disturbing human face framed by long hair, suggesting a victim trapped somewhere inside the ruin of a wreck.

History

During the War Devil arc, Yoru calls the devil forth and reshapes it into an instrument she names the Chainsaw Whip. In that state it becomes a long, barbed lash assembled from mangled cars and twisted scrap, which she swings to batter Pochita throughout their duel. Beyond the standard devil traits, little is documented about what it can manage on its own. Its strength springs from dystychiphobia, an outsized fear of physical accidents, and its Japanese name, Jiko, points straight at traffic collisions. The design and the behavior both link it tightly to the Car Devil, which Makima describes as feeding on the very same dread of being struck by a vehicle.
