Asa Mitaka's Father

His face is never revealed. All that registers is a head of short black hair resembling his daughter's, plus a pale shirt and dark trousers.

By Asa's account he was jobless, perpetually drunk, and prone to violence, and he betrayed his wife by cheating on her. For all those failings, he still moved to shield his daughter from an attacking devil in his final moments before his wife took his life.

In a dreamscape during the War Devil arc, Asa tells Denji how a devil attacked the family and tore the leg clean off her father. Her mother fended the creature away with a stone, pressed on the wound, and sent Asa running for Devil Hunters; by the time they got there, her father lay dead with the bloodied stone nearby. Back at their apartment, her mother confessed to the killing, reasoning that a mere lost leg would bring only a small insurance payout, whereas a death by devil would yield enough to set Asa's future on solid ground, schooling included. She added that his infidelity had handed her a further reason to be rid of him.
