Summary

Healing the wounds Denji inflicts, the Falling Devil boots him through the wall of a nearby structure and the clash drags on. She tries to broker peace, insisting Asa is the only human she still intends to kill and that the two of them have no further reason to trade blows. The offer backfires. Furious at the threat to the girl he calls his former possible girlfriend, Denji presses the assault, only for her to halt his mid-air strike with a single fingertip and command him to fall, dropping him back into the memories of losing Aki and Power.

Key Events

While Denji plummets through the open sky, the Falling Devil turns to chase Asa again, but he lunges back and splits her body in two. He explains that he sliced into his own brain to shut down his thinking, leaving his mind too scrambled for her psychic tricks to land. Picturing her as a battered French corndog, he bites in, and she allows it before regenerating inside his gut and tearing him apart from within. Out of blood at last, Denji can no longer knit himself together, and she resumes her hunt. A shadowed newcomer kneels beside him, opens their own palm, and feeds him blood to bring him back. Far off, Asa freezes in dread as the Falling Devil arrives at her location.
