Thank You, Chainsaw Man

Denji wakes inside his house, his hands smeared with blood, aware he has had one good dream and one bad. What he really wants, he thinks, are plain dreams like gaming or going on dates, the modest wants he and Pochita once held to, and he even pictures keeping a pet dog. Seeing his debtor's car outside, he gets in, only to meet danger that mirrors his very first death to the Zombie Devil. Resigned that death will take him before his life has truly started, he spots a naked woman battling overhead. She lets him live after declaring he smells like a dog, which she likes, and feeds him her blood for a lifetime of service. A chain suddenly lashes the pair, and the one who threw it apologizes, having confused the woman with the Zombie Devil. When that attacker claims them both, the woman refuses and charges the Makima-like silhouette.

The attacker proves to be Nayuta, who takes the two in and sends them to Fourth East High School to hunt devils while she busies herself elsewhere, gaming on her Game Boy beside Meowy and the dogs. Naming herself Power, the woman gripes that Denji is the sole pet she is allowed, guessing Nayuta is something like the Control Devil. At school the two square off against a devil; Denji asks for a chainsaw, recalling he made do with an axe before. The devil drops almost instantly, and he tells the watching students to leave the body alone while Power drinks its blood. Then he sees Bucky spring into Asa's arms, steps over, and watches her start to topple. He drops his chainsaw, dives, and catches her, and the two end up red-faced. Calling him Chainsaw Man, she thanks him, which sets his heart pounding and hints Pochita lingers inside him. Asked about the name, she says it was how he fought with the chainsaw. Still puzzled later, Denji raises it with Power, who smirks and calls it heart thump disease, claiming she has the cure. He watches Asa, Bucky, and other students play, then leaves with Power, who loudly rattles off dinner demands as he notes they are broke and must shake down their seniors again.

In the reset timeline Denji again faces death in his debtor's car, just as he once did to the Zombie Devil, but a naked woman saves him and feeds him her blood for servitude. Nayuta intervenes, recruits the two, and enrolls them at Fourth East High School as devil hunters. The woman is revealed as Power, who compares Nayuta to the Control Devil. The pair slay a school devil, and Denji catches a falling Asa, who names him Chainsaw Man, racing his heart and signaling Pochita's lingering presence.

This is the manga's closing chapter, a thirty-page finale wrapping Volume 24 and the War Devil arc. The reset world reunites Denji with Power and Bucky, casts Nayuta as guardian, and keeps a trace of Pochita alive within him. Meowy, the Zombie Devil, the Debt Collector, Tanaka, and a Pochita vision round out the appearances.
