Summary

Still gripping the two heads she has taken, Reze frames the killings as a demonstration of what she can do, insisting she would prefer not to spill blood and urging the others to abandon Denji and run. Aki refuses, gunning the engine and steering hard to slip past her. She launches herself onto the roof, annoyed at the fuel sloshing inside the vehicle, only for the Violence Fiend to intercept her with a kick. From the window Aki shouts his thanks, revealing he had summoned reinforcements ahead of time. When Reze blocks the Fiend's follow-up strike, he praises her but admits he is outmatched, calling to Kobeni before pulling back into the building. Reze finds Kobeni collapsed with a hurt hip, weeping and pleading for mercy, and simply walks off rather than finish her.

Key Events

Out on the crowded highway, Angel Devil spots Reze rocketing across the sky toward the car, where she touches down on a truck riding their bumper just as Denji jerks awake. Aki announces a last-ditch plan to crash straight into her, since keeping Denji separated from her is all that matters. Denji ignores this, shifting form and carving through the car to reach her himself, with Aki shouting that his blood is nearly gone. Face to face, Denji rages that every woman he meets seems to want him dead, baffled that so many crave the Chainsaw's heart while none want him. Reze swears her feelings were sincere, and the doubt nearly disarms him until Aki snaps him out of it. Denji declares he is done with her now that he has Makima, prompting Reze to note their escape would have meant nothing under Makima's hold. Refusing to carry her death on his conscience, Denji resolves to capture her and hurls himself forward.
