Sharknado

The combined punch of the explosions and the typhoon blows the onlookers backward, leaving the Violence Fiend to note they can only watch the four-way clash among Denji, Beam, the Typhoon Devil, and Reze. Driving in, Denji slices one of Reze's legs away, but the Typhoon Devil's blood mends her, and both combatants beam at how deranged the fight has turned. As the trade of blows escalates, the Angel Devil is flung back, and Aki catches his shirt even while his own grip on a signpost starts to fail.

The Angel Devil tells Aki to let go, insisting he has already made his peace with death, and as the shirt slides free he shuts his eyes and pictures a woman he knew long ago. Instead Aki seizes his hand and hauls him back to safety. Furious, the Angel Devil demands to know why, since the touch has just cost him two months of life, and Aki answers that if the Angel Devil must die, he would sooner it happen far off, because he is sick of watching people die right in front of him. In the storm, Denji effortlessly shreds the Typhoon Devil. Reze drops out of sight, then ambushes the pair from above, hammering Denji and Beam into the earth. Denji wriggles free from the mouth of a half-conscious Beam, who shielded him from the worst of the hit. Atop a roof, Reze teasingly tells him to surrender, and Denji simply replies that he does not want to.

Collected in Volume 6 within the Bomb Girl arc, the chapter was brought to screen in the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie. The title nods to the low-budget Sharknado television movies, which feature a typhoon full of sharks. The shot of Denji astride Beam amid the storm is a deliberate echo of Berserk's chapter 277, in which Guts mounts Nosferatu Zodd the very same way. Aki's rescue of the Angel Devil quietly deepens his weariness with loss.
