Overview

Built by aliens to seize foes and switch off their abilities, this weapon traps a target inside an electrified mesh. A flat, square electric core sits at its heart, with four joints fixed to it, each made from twin ramps, one sloping long toward the core and one shorter toward the grip. Held much like an umbrella, it activates as the four sides glide forward into a cross, linking to the core and charging.

Function

Pull the trigger and the device flares open, loosing a strong electrical burst that stuns the target stiff like a taser. That current can also kill an exosuit's tech, as when Bamora's suit lost its invisibility and shrank. The four joints then split from the core, circling the prey while spitting electric threads to pin it, before all four spikes blast into the earth and bury deep, drawing the cords taut so there is no breaking loose. Whether it began as Kur gear or was looted from the Serpo base during a raid stays unknown.

Through gatling fire and physical hits, Ta Koshin Jo, fighting beside the Jet Booster Exosuit Kur, was grinding down the psychokinetic shield Momo and Rokuro held, leaving them in trouble. Bamora then leapt in, decked Ta Koshin Jo, wrecked one of his attachments, vanished, and finished him with a tail whip. When the Kur could do nothing, leader Hastur stepped through a teleport gate and passed the Electric Net Gun over to deal with Bamora. She charged in, fired, and the shock undid the giant kaiju's invisibility; the joints ejected, snaring Bamora and squeezing her down to a smaller size. Pinned, she was torn from the suit by Hastur, who claimed it and ran her through with his tail.
