Overview

Crafted by the Mandrill Alien, the Territory Can is a weapon meant to subdue humans and round them up more easily. It takes the shape of an enormous soda can labeled ponzu, with a monkey drawn at its center, and rivals an entire school building in size. The can perched on the corner of a school roof during its debut, where it became the centerpiece of Momo and Okarun's struggle against the alien.

Function

When activated, the can projects a 100 kilometer wide field that drags everyone inside into a game of tag. Anyone who touches the can is sealed into a can of their own with only their arms and legs left free, then compelled to chase and tag uncanned people, spreading the effect outward. Once enough victims are canned, Mandrill herds them into his ship for use as test subjects. The weapon is not invincible: toppling it lets its own weight and gravity smash it apart, which reverses the canning and may even erase the victims' memory of the event.

Notable Users

The Mandrill Alien is the can's sole creator and operator. He launched a flurry of smaller cans at Momo in class and lured her toward the rooftop weapon, warning her not to strike it while secretly hoping she would touch it. Okarun fell for the trap and was canned, but Momo baited Mandrill's pride into firing more cans, deflecting them to destroy a support column. With its perch cracked, the giant can fell and broke apart, undoing its effects.
