Summary
Watching Bamora stabbed and discarded by Hastur, Momo catches her with her powers, distraught and unsure whose side the girl was ever on. The jet booster suit alien lunges to attack, but the Serpo blocks him with psychokinesis. Ignoring warnings that Bamora is an enemy, Momo tries to seal the wound and stop the bleeding, begging her not to die and regretting having pushed her away earlier.

Banga raises Bamora through the invasion, feeding her, washing her clothes, and teaching her to write, and shows her a mural of the Sumerian god said to appear when the planet nears extinction. Banga dismisses the legend as nonsense, holding a low view of her people, men, and gods, and resolves to survive by looking out only for herself, even at the cost of others.
