Summary

In a Showa-styled corner of the park, Jiji spots a shop selling penny candy and pulls Momo inside; the two go nostalgic over the retro sweets while Okarun looks on, his mood souring. He perks up only when Aira waves him toward an old dinosaur drawing. He shares a fun fact: older encyclopedias tended to show dinosaurs standing erect on a pair of hind legs, a habit he traces to the first American paleontologist who pieced together a Hadrosaurus and pictured it posed like a kangaroo. That gave rise to the famous "Godzilla stance," though Okarun thinks the man guessed wrong, since today's gravity would never let so big-headed an animal balance that way. Even so, he admits he enjoys imagining dinosaurs strutting like Godzilla. Aira notes he has loosened up while talking; Okarun moves to apologize, but she cuts in to say she is glad he is this way. He promises to watch himself, yet she tells him not to rein it in, and he confesses that now he cannot. Watching from across the shop, Momo admits to herself that gloom is settling over her even as she insists Okarun means nothing to her. Noticing an aquarium-tour poster near him, she suddenly seizes Jiji and hauls him off, ignoring his complaints about snacks. Okarun sees it happen before Aira grabs him too, steering him toward a prehistoric tour.

Meanwhile a barber from the Futakori Barbershop approaches Kinta and Bamora, blurting that Kinta's hairstyle looks bizarre. Confused, Kinta glances around for whoever is being addressed until the man flatly says he means Kinta, leaving him stunned. As the insults keep coming, Kinta insists he and Bamora should regroup with the others, but the barber tails them, oddly eager to do the cutting himself. Fed up, Kinta calls him rude and orders him to stop following; the barber denies any pursuit and merely repeats that the hair is weird and that he is not leaving. Trying to end it, Kinta asks what the man wants, and the barber tells him to get styled. Giving in, Kinta enters the shop but warns him not to make him look strange. Bamora asks for a trim too, yet the barber dismisses her, saying he has no interest in hers and telling her to wait outside. Once she leaves, Kinta scolds him for the rudeness and demands an apology, but the barber ignores him, absorbed in the cut. Out front, Bamora picks up the smell of takoyaki flour from passing visitors, spots a stall, and dashes off to buy some. Back inside, Kinta complains the cut is dragging on, making the barber realize he has drifted into a mirror staring contest with him. Irritated, Kinta accuses him of goofing off and grumbles that he is wasting his date time with Bamora.
