Quilge Opie

Round eyeglasses sit at the center of Quilge's look, and their frames hide a two-way radio that keeps him tied to the Wandenreich even out in Hueco Mundo. Most of his scalp is shaved close, leaving only a dark tuft up top. His outfit reworks the standard Wandenreich dress into pale trousers, dark boots, and a light tunic cinched by a buckled belt. A brief cape hangs from his shoulders, and he finishes the ensemble with a peaked cap edged in gold.

Command comes naturally to Quilge, who orders conquered Arrancar to grovel before him. His own men note that he turns brutal the moment someone fails to grasp what he means, and he shows little patience for their errors, even cutting down one subordinate who tried to flee a fight. Beneath a casual surface lies a man who punishes any flicker of defiance and belittles others freely, mocking the caliber of the Espada that Aizen assembled. Above all he reveres his emperor Yhwach, obeying every order to the letter and staking his life to see them through. That pride in the empire runs so deep that when Ichigo asks whether the Quincy dread Bankai, Quilge erupts and insists his people fear nothing, a slip that lets Kisuke Urahara catch him unguarded.

As executive hunting captain of the first Jagdarmee and the Sternritter branded J, Quilge works out of Silbern and answers straight to Yhwach. In Hueco Mundo he presides over a camp where captured Arrancar are herded together for a lethal selection, killing them off one by one. When Loly Aivirrne and Menoly Mallia turn on him, he puts both down at once, then defeats Harribel's three Fracciónes: Apacci, Mila Rose, and Sung-Sun. Ichigo's arrival pulls him into a longer duel, during which he reveals his Quincy nature and answers Getsuga Tenshō with his own volley of Heilig Pfeil loosed from an ornate saber.

Ordered by Yhwach to end the fight quickly, Quilge activates his Quincy: Vollständig, Piskiel, taking on an angelic shape he boasts eclipses the outdated Letzt Stil. His gathered Reishi is shattered when the Tres Bestias summon the beast Ayon, who mauls him savagely, yet his Blut lets him shrug off a broken neck and keep swinging. He then strips Ayon apart with Sklaverei, grafting the creature's power onto his own body. After failing to steal Ichigo's Bankai with a Medallion and taking a crippling blast from Urahara, he hauls himself upright through Ransōtengai for a final stand.

His Schrift, the Jail, lets him seal shut the gateways between worlds and pen his enemies inside Reishi so completely that their presence vanishes and no Bankai-charged strike can break free. He traps Ichigo at the mouth of the Garganta, gloating that escape is hopeless, unaware that the cage cannot bind a fellow Quincy. Before he can finish the rest, an unseen Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez splits him vertically in two, ending the hunting captain's rampage.
