Magire Kakuremino

For all his timidity, Magire is thought rather good-looking, a point Chocho Akimichi remarks on. Tall for his age and pale-skinned, he has straight brown hair that splits at the centre of his brow and falls to his upper back. He dresses in grey trousers and a long-sleeved white shirt topped by a white mantle that reaches his waist.

Magire is painfully shy and unsure of himself. He craves recognition and acceptance yet cannot muster the nerve to reach out directly. Sumire's steady kindness is what stirs his feelings for her. Once the spectre takes hold, though, a cold, methodical streak surfaces, and he picks off obstacles one opponent at a time.

Magire attended the Academy in a class apart from Sumire Kakei, and, shy and overlooked, he spent much of it alone until her friendliness singled him out and sparked his crush. His gift lies in concealment: he moves so stealthily that even a seasoned shinobi like Shino Aburame fails to notice him, he excels at the Cloak of Invisibility Technique, and he handles shuriken with quick, accurate sleight of hand.

Unable to confess, Magire resorts to trailing Sumire and is caught by her and her friends. When Chocho wrongly assumes she is the target, he blurts out that it is really Sumire he likes, then works up the courage to ask her out, only to be turned down and flee in shame. A shadow spectre drawn to his grief possesses him, twisting his affection into something menacing: he leaves notes everywhere, lures Sumire from her friends, and abducts her. Chocho finally reaches him, and as Magire accepts how wrongheaded his methods were, the spectre is cast out. He collapses from the chakra drain of the possession and is rushed to the hospital.
