Gook is a minor Shinigami best known for idling away his time gambling in the Shinigami Realm. With the skull of a horned beast for a head, he appears mostly in the background of Ryuk's world, a small piece of the lazy, listless society the gods of death call home.
Gook's defining feature is his head, formed from the long-horned skull of cattle rather than anything human. Yellow eyes peer from the sockets, and a heavy beaded necklace, dark green in the anime and red in the manga, hangs at his neck. Coarse brown fur covers him in patches, draping at the waist like clothing and sheathing his wings.
Much like his fellow Shinigami Deridovely, Gook is fond of gambling, even if he has little talent for winning. Beyond that vice he is thoroughly lazy, content to loaf about the realm rather than involve himself in the affairs of humans.
Gook is seen gambling with Deridovely in the Shinigami Realm during the anime's opening episode, watching as Ryuk departs for the Human World, and he returns in Ryuk's flashbacks that explain the realm to Light. In the one-shot special's prologue he wrongly assumes Ryuk has gone to the Human World when it is really Midora, and the pair discuss the apples Midora brought back as payment to the Shinigami King for a Death Note. His final canonical appearance comes in Death Note Relight, where an unknown Shinigami questions him, Deridovely, and Zellogi about Ryuk's whereabouts.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....
