Repetitive Action is a discipline a handful of Demon Slayers use to push their bodies past human limits. By cycling through a fixed routine of movement, prayer, or memory, the user climbs to a peak of concentration and unleashes raw strength for an extended stretch.
Repetitive Action is a method passed between only a few members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Genya Shinazugawa brings it into the story after learning it from Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira. The approach opens all five senses to reach a heightened plane comparable to Total Concentration Breathing, which places it close in nature to the various Breathing Styles.
The practitioner repeats a chosen set of actions over and over, whether dwelling on a memory steeped in fury and grief or chanting a prayer without pause. Doing so steadily lifts their focus and pulls forth every ounce of physical power their body holds, sustaining it far longer than a brief burst. The strain shows physically, driving up body heat and quickening the pulse. Introduced in Chapter 135 and Episode 61, the technique becomes a tool that lets a fighter approach the raw might of the upper ranks of the Twelve Kizuki when paired with a Breathing Style.
The engine behind the technique is relentless repetition. Genya, who cannot draw on any Breathing Style at all, leans entirely on Repetitive Action to reach the same elevated condition that Total Concentration Breathing grants others. Following his teacher Gyomei, he recites scripture, specifically the chant drawn from the Amitayurdhyana Sutra, to enter and hold the state.
Gyomei himself sustains it by ceaselessly reciting the Nembutsu invocation. Tanjiro takes a different route after asking Genya about it, lifting his concentration to its ceiling by picturing the faces of those he loves and silently echoing the words Kyojuro Rengoku once spoke to him about keeping his heart aflame. Inosuke grasps the idea almost instantly by watching Tanjiro, fixing his thoughts on a shared meal of tempura from training and shouting his own favorite battle cry as his mantra, which gives him enough power to shove a boulder. Combining Repetitive Action with constant Total Concentration is also said to help a slayer awaken the Demon Slayer Mark and hold it longer.
Gyomei Himejima stands as the original practitioner shown using it, anchoring himself through constant prayer. Genya Shinazugawa depends on it absolutely because of his inability to breathe in any style. Tanjiro Kamado adopts it after consulting Genya, and Inosuke Hashibira picks it up simply by observation, surprising Zenitsu with the strength it grants him.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned $778 million globally and nearly 40 billion yen in Japan, but it still couldn't top Mugen Train's domestic record. Here's why that barely matters....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
