Giichi Tomioka is a present-day schoolboy descended from the Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka. He attends the same swimming academy as two close companions, who are themselves the reborn versions of Sabito and Makomo from the demon-slaying era.
Giichi looks strikingly like his forebear Giyu. He shares the same fair skin and the same uneven, jet-black hair that reaches roughly to his neck, styled much like Giyu wore it once the conflict with Muzan Kibutsuji had ended. His eyes are fairly wide and sit beneath slim brows, with irises of deep blue that lighten toward their lower edge and pupils tinged a bluish black.
For everyday wear he is shown in a blue knit sweater paired with black jogging trousers marked by a red stripe down each leg, and he carries a black backpack.
Where his ancestor was reserved and unsmiling, Giichi comes across as upbeat and good-natured, especially when he is among his friends. He is also shown to be generous: noticing how delighted one of his companions would be, he readily hands over his own toy charm to make her happy.
Giichi is walking through town with his two friends from the swim school when Sumihiko Kamado dashes past them on his way to class. The girl of the group asks the boys which toy charm each of them received and presses them to reveal what they got, and both produce a traditional fox mask. Giichi's resembles the one Makomo had worn, prompting his friend to remark that it is a rare design. When she admits she has no spending money left to buy one of her own, Giichi and the other boy both offer her theirs, leaving her overjoyed. This sequence appears in the manga's later chapters.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned $778 million globally and nearly 40 billion yen in Japan, but it still couldn't top Mugen Train's domestic record. Here's why that barely matters....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

No. Giichi Tomioka is a descendant of Giyu Tomioka, not his reincarnation. His two swim-school friends are the reborn versions of Sabito and Makomo.
Giichi Tomioka looks strikingly like his ancestor Giyu, sharing the same fair skin, uneven jet-black hair that reaches his neck, and deep blue eyes that lighten toward the bottom.
Unlike his reserved ancestor, Giichi Tomioka is upbeat and good-natured, especially among his friends, and generous enough to hand over his own toy charm to make a friend happy.
Giichi Tomioka appears in the present-day epilogue of Demon Slayer, in the manga's later chapters.
