The youngest daughter of Kagaya and Amane Ubuyashiki, one of a set of quintuplets. Once her parents die, she helps her brother Kiriya guide the Corps, drawing on her exceptional memory to chart the ever-changing Infinity Castle and follow every slayer through the final war against Muzan.
Kanata is a girl with pale skin and large purple eyes, her white hair worn in the blunt bob her siblings share. A long wisteria ornament sits to her right, mirroring the placement her brother keeps on his own opposite side. Her kimono shifts over the course of the story, matching that of her twin sister Kuina by the time of the Infinity Castle.
During Final Selection she seems calm, businesslike, and nearly emotionless, plainly laying out the lethal odds and showing no fear even as Genya Shinazugawa yanks her by the hair. A more vulnerable side surfaces after her family dies, when she cries for her parents and sisters, though she steadies herself each time Kiriya urges her to concentrate on the task before them.
Born last of the Ubuyashiki quintuplets, Kanata first turns up at Final Selection to explain the trial to the recruits. When her parents form their scheme to ambush Muzan by blowing up the family mansion, two of her sisters opt to die with them, while Kanata and Kuina are sent to back Kiriya as he takes over leadership, kept safe at the Butterfly Mansion under guard by retired Hashira.
Throughout the strike on the Infinity Castle she remains beside her brother, passing along information and at one moment breaking down over her lost family before regaining her composure. As Muzan goes on a rampage and Kiriya nearly buckles under the pressure, Kanata sees Kuina slap him back to clarity, and the three siblings cry together once he recovers.
Kanata's talent is a phenomenal memory. During the infiltration she manages to chart the endlessly rearranging fortress and keep track of where each slayer and Hashira stands, lending vital logistical aid alongside Kiriya and Kuina. As dawn approaches she counts down the minutes left, and when the sun at last climbs over the horizon she prays to her family and to the gods for the demon king's end.
Once Muzan is gone, the Ubuyashiki curse that had condemned the family to short lives lifts. At the final Hashira meeting Giyu tells Kiriya his ancestors would be proud, bringing all three siblings to tears. Beyond the main narrative, Kanata is portrayed as shy, afraid of spiders, and accomplished at the koto.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned $778 million globally and nearly 40 billion yen in Japan, but it still couldn't top Mugen Train's domestic record. Here's why that barely matters....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
