Makio

Standing at roughly average height, Makio has a curvaceous build, pale skin, and large light-brown eyes lined by prominent lashes. Her thin eyebrows angle downward, lending her a determined look. Her black hair is tied up, with soft yellow bangs framing her face.

She typically wears a red striped sleeveless dress ending at mid-thigh, secured by a black sash that doubles as storage for her kunai. Gray bandages wrap her calves and thighs, and she wears sandals with red straps. In retirement she adopts a more modest scarlet kimono with white cross-laced straps over a layered undergarment.

Makio is bold, fierce, and confident in herself and her life as a kunoichi. She has the least patience for her co-wife Suma, often scolding or even striking her for panicking or speaking carelessly. During the underground fight against Daki's sash she berated Suma for her pessimism, and later slapped her for falsely declaring Hinatsuru dead.

Despite the hot temper, Makio has a tender side that shows with Hinatsuru and with Tengen. She sought Hinatsuru's counsel before their mission and comforted her afterward, and she clung to Tengen in relief once Nezuko healed him. Like her co-wives, she holds a soft spot for Tanjiro after the battle in Yoshiwara.

Makio has no superhuman powers, but her upbringing as a kunoichi gives her real combat skill. She is a trained practitioner of ninjutsu, capable of acrobatic maneuvers and skilled with the kunai, fighting far more effectively than an ordinary person. She carries a pair of standard black kunai, using them for both close combat and as thrown projectiles.

In her brief clash with Daki's sentient belt she held her ground confidently, unlike the timid Suma. However, lacking any Breathing Style, she can be overwhelmed by demons and is outmatched in raw power by her husband.
