Tatsu is a minor anime-original character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. A young train maintenance worker, he is seized and held hostage by the Slasher demon, only to be rescued by the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.
Tatsu is a youth of roughly fifteen, the minimum working age in Japan. He stands at average height, with dark brown hair and brown eyes that look hollow, seeming to lack visible pupils. His usual outfit is a brown bib-and-brace overall worn over a white long-sleeved shirt, the sleeves pushed up out of the way for work.
Acting on orders from the chief train engineer, Tatsu and seven other maintenance staff are assigned to ready the Mugen Train for service. The locomotive has been returned to the depot amid suspicions that a demon is connected to a string of disappearances tied to it.
During the Mugen Train arc, Tatsu is resting in the office when Kyojuro Rengoku arrives bearing boxed meals for the crew. As a worker goes to deliver one, the Slasher demon slips into the building hunting for prey and finds the boy alone, seizing him by the neck. When Kyojuro and the others reach the scene, the demon wounds Tatsu to provoke the Hashira, then races around the hall while using him as a shield. Terrified and bleeding, Tatsu pleads for help. The instant the demon tries to kill him, Kyojuro severs both of its arms and catches the falling boy. He administers first aid before handing Tatsu over to arriving Corps members so the medical squad can treat his injuries.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned $778 million globally and nearly 40 billion yen in Japan, but it still couldn't top Mugen Train's domestic record. Here's why that barely matters....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
