Summary

Giyu weaves around Akaza with Water Breathing's third form, and the demon notes it has been half a century since he last fought a Water Hashira. When Akaza's Destructive Death: Disorder forces a response, Giyu disperses the shockwaves with the eleventh form, Dead Calm, a technique Akaza has never witnessed. Tanjiro strikes from behind with Hinokami Kagura, and the two slayers press the demon together as he regenerates each severed limb.

Akaza, delighting in the exchange, repeatedly demands Giyu's name while the Hashira refuses to give it. With a barrage of explosive kicks, Akaza launches Giyu through several walls, leaving Tanjiro alone. The two trade powerful clashing techniques, and Tanjiro escapes unharmed, drawing the demon's admiration.

Notes

The chapter's emotional core is the argument over what nature truly demands. Akaza claims it is natural to discard the weak, while Tanjiro counters that everyone is born helpless and that the genuine order of things is for the strong to shield the weak and for the weak to grow in order to protect others in turn. VIZ Media's official release localizes Akaza's Disorder technique under the name Chaotic Type. The chapter is part of Volume 17 and the Infinity Castle Arc.
