Manga ChapterCh. 17

The 17th chapter of Kimetsu no Yaiba pits Tanjiro and Nezuko, aided by Tamayo and Yushiro, against two members of the Twelve Kizuki. Hounded by Yahaba's telekinetic arrows, Tanjiro must find a clever way to turn the demon's own power against him.

Summary

Yushiro warns Tanjiro that if these demons truly belong to the Twelve Kizuki, they will outclass anything he has faced. Nezuko drives Yahaba from his perch with repeated kicks, while Susamaru regenerates all of her arms faster than any demon from Final Selection. Yushiro directs Tanjiro to take on Yahaba while he and Tamayo support Nezuko against Susamaru, and the siblings switch targets.

Facing Yahaba, Tanjiro briefly spots the Opening Thread before the demon's arrows scatter his footing, fling him skyward, and drop him, forcing a Water Breathing form to break the fall. Sheltering indoors, Tamayo administers a serum that accelerates Nezuko's stalled healing after a temari tears off her foot.

Notes

The chapter adapts material seen in Episode 9 of the anime and was collected in Volume 3 as part of the Asakusa Arc. The wiki notes a translation slip in the English release: when Tanjiro plans to combine forms, the text references the first and third forms, but Whirlpool is actually Water Breathing's sixth form, with the first being Water Surface Slash.
