Summary

As Zenitsu finishes healing, he recalls the eerie sound Shinobu produces and his awe at how she rescued the transformed slayers. Once well enough, he joins his friends in training. In the mansion's hall, Aoi outlines the three stages: stretching by the helpers, reflex drills with cups of medicinal tea, and a full-body chase against Kanao.

Tanjiro and Inosuke dread returning to the regimen, but Zenitsu reacts very differently. He drags the pair outside and berates them for moping when, in his view, spending the day with young women is a privilege rather than a hardship.

Key Events

Once well, Zenitsu rejoins his two friends for Rehabilitation Training, which centers on a pair of contests against Kanao Tsuyuri. His shallow enthusiasm and Inosuke's hatred of losing both push them harder, though for the wrong reasons.

After repeatedly failing to beat Kanao, Zenitsu and Inosuke abandon the drills, leaving Tanjiro to continue alone. Over many fruitless days he finally learns from the mansion's girls that the Hashira and Kanao stay ahead because they sustain Total Concentration Breathing at all hours, even in their sleep.

Notes

This chapter establishes the structure of Rehabilitation Training and introduces the concept of maintaining Total Concentration Breathing around the clock, a milestone Tanjiro must reach to close the gap with the elite. Kanao's superior speed and her Hashira-like presence mark her as a standout among the new generation.

The installment corresponds to Episode 24 and appears in Volume 6.
