Kaede Hondo

In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, produced by the studio Ufotable, Hondo provides the Japanese voice of Shigeru Kamado, one of the younger members of the Kamado family. The part is a brief but tender role within the series, set against a career that has otherwise been built largely on leading anime characters. It stands as one of many credits she has gathered since debuting in 2015.

Hondo has carried leading roles across a wide range of series. Her credits include Kokoro Yotsuba in Kamisama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama, Hikari Takanashi in Interviews with Monster Girls, Yae Kugayama in Girlish Number, Minoa Asagaya in Anime-Gatari, Kanami Eto in Katana Maidens ~ Toji No Miko, Koyume Koizuka in Comic Girls, and Hitomi Mishima in Hinamatsuri. She also headlined as the Sempai in Magical Sempai, Sakura Minamoto in Zombie Land Saga, Maple in Bofuri, the title witch in Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, and Mikuru Kobayashi, also known as Cure Mystique, in Star Detective Precure!.

Hondo's run of leading performances earned her formal industry recognition when she received the Best New Actress Award at the 13th Seiyu Awards, an honor that marks her as one of the standout newcomers of her cohort in Japanese voice acting.
