History
Nozomi's first trace in the franchise is textual: the character profile for Hikari in the Neon Genesis Evangelion Proposal cites her, and she is also associated with the Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA novels.
Her on-screen debut came from outside the franchise entirely. Episode 31 of Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION features the three Horaki sisters giving series lead Hayato Hayasugi a car ride, the first time either Nozomi or Kodama had appeared in motion in any piece of Evangelion media. For the episode, Junko Iwao, who voiced Hikari in the TV anime, performs all three sisters. Kazuya Tsurumaki created her design together with Kodama's.
