Personality

Still new to the trade, Peaure lacks the weary cynicism that years of censorship have instilled in his mentor Roy. He questions Military Police officers on subjects other reporters treat as untouchable, and suppressed stories about government scandal leave him visibly frustrated.

Truth matters to him even more than the craft of reporting itself. When Roy balks at running an article exposing corruption inside the Military Police, Peaure argues with such conviction that the veteran finally relents and agrees to publish.

History

Peaure first appears beside Roy, surveying the wreckage left by the Survey Corps' clash with the First Interior Squad. His observation that the Interior unit operates apart from the regular Military Police is cut short; Nile Dok has barred the paper from covering either the squad or its anti-personnel vertical maneuvering equipment. Back at the Berg office, Peaure reads the whitewashed account of the battle and asks Roy why he ever became a journalist. Hange Zoë overhears the exchange, and when Peaure starts jotting notes during their conversation, Moblit Berner twists his hand to stop him. After Hange rescues Flegel Reeves, Peaure urges Roy to expose the First Interior Squad. Roy refuses at first, fearing for everyone's safety, so Peaure grabs and shakes him, insisting the monarchy would let the people die if Titans breached the Walls again. The outburst convinces Roy to print the truth.

Once Wall Maria is retaken, the two journalists speak with Hange and Levi about the revelations now public: the deeds of the 145th King and Marley's designs on the island. Peaure openly wonders whether readers will believe any of it.

Years later, when news of Eren Yeager's arrest for the Marley attack leaks out, Peaure joins the crowd hounding Hange for answers outside military headquarters, even blocking their path to demand confirmation before being shoved aside. Three years after the Rumbling and Eren's death, he photographs a Yeagerist ceremony alongside Roy and Flegel Reeves.
