Log

Log stands tall, with dull blue hair falling to his shoulders and golden eyes. He is a near-mirror of his clone sibling Mitsuki, set apart only by the maturity of an older face and a scar tracing his right cheek. He is first glimpsed beneath a dark haori that swallows his whole silhouette.

Facing Orochimaru and Mitsuki, he dons an updated take on shinobi battle armour: heavy arm-guards, outer thigh plates, and a hybrid breastplate, topped by a kabuki mask with narrow eye slits, a jutting nose, and a scowling mouth. He favours an ornate snake-motif lighter and carries a sword mounted upright on his back. The anime instead drapes him in a long, hooded grey cloak.

Log comes across as an even-tempered sort who takes his time and enjoys a smoke. For all his cold exterior, he holds a clear soft spot for his younger clone, quietly amused by Orochimaru's worry over the boy and ready to put himself on the line for Mitsuki's sake.

Orochimaru cultivated Log from an embryo and first named him Mitsuki, a title drawn from a word for vessel and the snake sign of the zodiac. As the story goes, the boy turned on his maker, fled, and set out to destroy the embryo he had sprung from, condemning the sannin's experiments in creating life. That whole account, though, is a fiction the two arranged together, meant to press the young Mitsuki toward a decision: help end Orochimaru, stay obedient, or forge a path of his own.

In combat Log proves formidable, trading blows and briefly countering his own creator with speed, a blade, and skilled kenjutsu; his Armour-Eater technique reshapes his plating to trap and bind a foe. Across the anime he watches over Mitsuki's development beside Orochimaru, weighing whether to erase the boy's painful memories and voicing his objection when they consider it. When Mitsuki's body collapses from overusing his Sage Transformation, Log ultimately gives up his own organs as replacements, taking Mitsuki's place on life support so his brother can return to the fight.
