Mahiru is a jonin of Iwagakure who fought during the Third Shinobi World War. A cautious man clinging fiercely to his own survival, he came within a breath of killing the young Kakashi Hatake before Minato Namikaze stepped in and cut him down.
Mahiru's hair forms two spiked tails, one jutting up from the crown of his head and another pointing down from the back. He wears the usual Iwagakure combat gear, a flak jacket over a shirt missing its right sleeve, with a dark cloth hanging from his waist down past his right knee. A simple forehead protector wrapped in blue cloth completes the look.
Mahiru is painted as a wary man who placed enormous value on his own life and carried a great deal of hatred. Little else is recorded, beyond his dismissing Kakashi as a mere brat while genuinely fearing Minato.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Working alongside Kakko and Taiseki during the Third Shinobi World War, Mahiru scouted the route Team Minato was taking. He operates best on his own and leans on kenjutsu, his speed and blade enough to briefly overpower even the prodigy Kakashi; he also commands high-level ninjutsu, fielding as many as twenty shadow clones at once, and uses Earth Release to ambush foes from below. Against Team Minato he threw roughly twenty clones at Kakashi, all shredded by the boy's Chidori, yet he turned the attack aside and would have killed him had Minato not flashed in, pulled Kakashi clear, and pressed a kunai to Mahiru's throat. He was slain there, lamenting with his last breath that he had not fled when he had the chance. He also surfaces as an enemy in the game Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.
