Appearance

A brawny, rough-featured fighter, Murasame looks every bit the hardened shinobi. His grey hair falls to around the chin and spikes upward on top, and a teal stripe crosses the bridge of his nose, calling Iruka's scar to mind. His outfit is a sleeveless black shirt, grey trousers, ninja sandals, and brown arm warmers.

Abilities

Murasame outranks Hisame and Kirisame, so leadership of the squad falls to him in Suien's absence. With the Water Release: Water Whip he can lash a rope of water around an enemy to hold them fast, while his genjutsu spins up blurred double-images that scramble a foe's aim. His taijutsu leans on sheer velocity, giving opponents almost no window to counter. He carries, too, a custom wire that will saw through the flesh of anyone who strains against it using the Rope Escape Technique.

History

Murasame turned his back on Amegakure to aid Suien's bid for the Hero Water kept in Takigakure. In the assault he teamed with Hisame to pin Sasuke Uchiha down while Naruto Uzumaki chased Shibuki, yet the tide shifted once Shibuki himself downed the Hero Water and swept the attackers aside with a water dragon. A later novel makes clear he lived through it, and in the end Kakashi took him prisoner.
