Natsu Hyūga

Natsu's hair is short and dark green, and she carries the large pale eyes shared across her clan. She usually dresses in a floor-length kimono topped by a white apron, with the village forehead protector tied around her brow. On the return trip to Konoha after the family's meeting with the Taketori, she was seen instead in a navy blue kimono and matching obi bound with an orange cord.

Charged with raising Hanabi Hyuga, Natsu comes across as kind and dependable. Even so, she fell in line with most of Konoha's residents in seeing Naruto only as the vessel for the beast that had once ravaged the village, or as the beast itself, and treated him coldly during his childhood.

Being of the Hyuga clan, Natsu wields the Byakugan, a dojutsu that affords her a field of vision spanning nearly a full circle, the ability to see through solid matter, and clear sight of the chakra pathway system. She worked as a maid within the Hyuga household and looked after Hanabi. When Hanabi once asked to play with Hinata, Natsu explained that her sister was occupied with training. Walking through the village the following morning, the two saw Naruto being reprimanded by a resident, and when Hanabi wondered aloud why he was cast out, Natsu told her to keep away from him. She also oversaw Hanabi's studies, insisting they be finished before any play with Hinata.

During Pain's Assault, Natsu escorted Hanabi and Hiashi for talks with the Taketori clan, and on returning they were stunned to find Konoha under attack by Akatsuki. Later, once the great war had ended, she joined Hiashi and Hanabi at the mass funeral held in the village. Her name may derive from Hyuganatsu, a Japanese citrus whose own name links the old name for Miyazaki Prefecture with the word for summer.
