Renga Kokubō is a genin of Team 25 who went on to serve in Konohagakure's Anbu. Tireless and defence-minded, he pairs raw physical strength with protective techniques, and his surname, meaning national defence, suits the shielding style he is known for.
Renga's black hair sits messy on top with the sides shaved close, and his eyes are a dark shade. He dresses plainly in a sleeveless brown shirt paired with brown shorts.
Diligence defines Renga, who throws himself into his duties and willingly shoulders heavy workloads that others might avoid.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Working with his teammates, the young Renga proved a strong fit for reconnaissance and intelligence work, so much so that he was regularly handed Anbu-grade assignments. His body is unusually powerful, letting him haul dozens of parcels in one go, and his real specialty is defence. Using the Quarantine Wall he can shelter a wide space from a violent blast, and he has enough command of fuinjutsu to pin foes in place and, working in concert with other users, amplify the effect. Under Sai Yamanaka's guidance he absorbed Anbu combat methods and learned to resist attempts to invade his mind.
At the Academy entrance ceremony he watched, amazed, as Boruto Uzumaki crashed a train into the Hokage Monument, and his class later shadowed civilian workplaces on Shino Aburame's instruction. A school trip took the group to Kirigakure under the guidance of Kagura Karatachi. During the graduation exams Konohamaru Sarutobi knocked him out alongside two classmates, yet the students rallied behind Boruto's plan, confronting Kakashi Hatake for the bell and passing on the strength of their teamwork. He was then placed on Team 25 with Hoki Taketori and Hako Kuroi.
Through the Byakuya Gang trouble, Team 25 was among the genin squads held back from directly engaging the thieves and instead grinding through low-rank chores, including sorting mail at the post office where they helped defuse a bombing scheme before being reassigned under Sai and trained heavily in Anbu craft. The team later captured Mujina Bandits who had slipped into the village, supported Sasuke Uchiha's probe into Kara at Amegakure, and attended the memorial for the fallen of the Fourth Shinobi World War. When the new Chunin Exams came, only Hoki advanced to the finals while Renga and Hako stepped back to carry an injured comrade out of the Forest of Death, later cheering their teammate's promotion. He also helped arrest the associates of a scheming minister from the Land of Bamboo during an attempt to abduct Princess Kae Yukiwari.
