Chiyo's Secret Skills

Pleased at the prospect of bagging a second jinchūriki, Deidara tries to shake Kakashi with his Explosive Clay so he can face Naruto alone, but Kakashi refuses to fall away. With his clay reserves dwindling, Deidara accepts that he must contend with both pursuers together. Kakashi, already stretched far from his allies, notes he is nearly beyond the reach of the team's radio.

In the other clash, Sakura clears a poison cloud with an explosive tag and vows to bring Sasori down, drawing a volley of kunai in reply. Chiyo intercepts with the Mother and Father puppets Sasori built as a boy from his deceased parents, an irony he scoffs at since he knows their inner workings. The puppets loose wire and rush him, cutting through the Third Kazekage puppet's Thousand Hands Manipulation Force before Sasori sheds an arm to reveal a hidden buzzsaw.

The exchange escalates as both sides trade concealed weapons: Chiyo wrecks the buzzsaw while Sasori destroys the Mother's sword and Father's club. Left with his ace, Sasori finally unveils the Third Kazekage's inherited technique, Iron Sand, reputed to be the most fearsome art Sunagakure has ever produced. Elsewhere, Team Guy tires against its own mirrored doubles, with only Guy managing to strike back.

Deidara concedes he must fight Naruto and Kakashi at the same time as his clay supply thins. Chiyo counters Sasori using his Mother and Father puppets, sculpted from his dead parents, and the two exchange hidden armaments until both weapons are broken. Sasori then reveals his trump, the Third Kazekage's Iron Sand, described as the deadliest technique in Sunagakure's history. Team Guy remains locked in a losing struggle against their mirrored clones.

The episode is part of the Kazekage Rescue Mission arc and adapts two chapters. Its focus on Chiyo's puppet mastery pays off the personal history between her and Sasori, whose parent puppets she wields against him.
