Predestined Fate

Koji watches Jigen wrestle with the fire as Boruto wonders why he does not simply absorb it with the Kāma. Katasuke observes that the flames refuse to fade, and Kawaki works out that they are natural flames drawn from elsewhere rather than chakra, which is why Jigen cannot swallow them. Amado relays this to the Konoha shinobi. As the blaze thins, Sasuke realizes Jigen is shrinking the fire instead of absorbing it, and Amado details that shrinking ability. When Jigen begins running dry on chakra and can no longer compress the flames, they start to consume him. Amado explains to Naruto and Sasuke that Jigen never fully healed from their earlier fight, which limits how much he can shrink.

An enraged Kawaki storms in and attacks Amado, only to be stopped by Sasuke. Amado explains that when Jigen dies from the flames, and Isshiki with him, it will trigger the Kāma: Jigen's has already extracted all of Isshiki's data while Kawaki's has not, so Kawaki cannot yet serve as a vessel. He directs everyone to the feed and confirms the mark on Kawaki's palm has vanished, explaining that a Kāma resurrection erases every other Kāma to prevent duplicate copies, and that in that window an Ōtsutsuki can be permanently killed until it brands a new host. Isshiki then rises from the smoke and begins shrinking everything around him, including the toad relaying the transmission, cutting the feed.

Amado judges the plan mostly successful and says Koji has served his purpose. Isshiki shrinks Koji's mask and recognizes him as a clone of Jiraiya, the change-bringing figure Amado had placed his hopes in. Koji grabs Isshiki with his hair and flings him about, but Isshiki shrinks free, and a Needle Jizō strike misses as well. Taunting Koji as a discarded pawn who has already forced his resurrection, Isshiki notes Jigen's body will last only days. Koji enters Sage Mode. Amado, meanwhile, secures his deal and reveals to Shikamaru that the explosive collar on Shikadai was a decoy, a real one having been used only on a tree to force negotiations. Koji attacks with wide flames to block Isshiki's line of sight and tries to trap him between fire and an Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan, but Isshiki pins him with the shrunken stone pillars.

This is Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episode 214, part of the Kawaki Arc, adapting manga chapters 47 and 48. Its title distinguishes the episode from the same-named chapter, and it confirms Koji Kashin's origin as a cloned Jiraiya while laying out the mechanics of Kāma-based resurrection.
