Summary

With Sasuke's Rinnegan gone and no other route home, Boruto keeps failing to tear open a rift back to Konoha. Kawaki guesses that dread of another Momoshiki takeover is holding him back and swears to help strip away his Kama, repaying the aid Boruto once gave him. The bickering settles Boruto enough to split the rift open, and the group crosses over. Word of their arrival reaches Shikamaru, who gathers Sarada, Mitsuki, Sumire and Katasuke to meet them, while Amado inquires after Kawaki. Sarada presses about her father's lost eye yet refuses to fault Boruto when he shoulders the blame, and Sasuke backs her view.

Key Events

Naruto, Sai and Shikamaru sit down with Amado to gauge what is left of Kara after Isshiki's fall. Amado warns that the last surviving Inner, Code, is a genuine danger: a defective Vessel whose Kama never worked for rebirth and so avoided erasure, though it still serves as a weapon. Instead of enhancing him as he did the others, Amado deliberately reined in Code's strength to keep from challenging Jigen's authority, since Code is fiercely loyal to the Otsutsuki. That leaves Code the sole cyborg mightier than Jigen whom Amado never scrapped, and almost certainly one bent on avenging Isshiki. At the Ten-Tails' enclosure, Code stirs from a nap as his White Kama conjures an image of Isshiki, who names him his heir and passes down the mission.

Notes

Boruto and Kawaki discuss the journey home, while Sakura and Katasuke weigh how Naruto and Sasuke are affected now that Kurama and the Rinnegan are both gone. Scans put both boys at eighty percent Otsutsuki, and Kawaki renews his pledge to free Boruto of his mark. Hounded by reporters over the Isshiki battle, Boruto ends up on television as his friends look on. Mitsuki tells Sarada that Team 7 is barred from missions while Boruto's condition lingers, drawing an apology from Boruto. Sumire, anxious for him, recognises her own feelings, while Boruto boards the train, lost in thought over his Kama. The episode adapts chapters fifty-five and fifty-six of the Kawaki Arc.
