Summary

As Taka and Orochimaru near Konohagakure, they feel Naruto's chakra flare, and the cloak now surrounding Hinata catches everyone's attention on the battlefield. Naruto splits into clones and hands Kurama's chakra out to every member of the Allied Shinobi Forces, cloaking each of them in the same shroud. The Ten-Tails lashes out but is repelled by Hinata's strengthened strike, and Obito's follow-up tails are stopped by enlarged Akimichi. Recalling their fathers' final words, Ino seizes control of Obito to divert a blow meant for Chōji while Shikamaru and the Nara pin the beast with their shadows.

Lee grieves for Neji and Kakashi thinks back on his last words with Shikaku as the fight rages on. Madara frees the Ten-Tails from the Nara's grip, yet the next assault is smothered by a wave of counterattacks. Naruto carves through several tails with a Rasenshuriken, and the Alliance advances as one. A second Rasenshuriken passes through Obito but breaks his link to the beast, and Lee's kick severs Madara's the same way, forcing both to fall back. In Konoha's outskirts, Orochimaru dons a mask at the Naka Shrine, summons the Shinigami, and reclaims his sealed arms before shifting his body into Suigetsu to dodge the reflected wound. Sacrificing White Zetsu spores drawn from Sasuke, he revives the first four Hokage.

Key Events

Naruto distributes Kurama's chakra across the whole Alliance, granting each fighter a protective cloak that lets them repel the Ten-Tails together. Ino, Shikamaru, and the Nara execute the strategy their fathers left them, redirecting Obito's attack and binding the beast. Naruto and Lee sever the connections that Obito and Madara hold over the Ten-Tails, driving the pair to retreat.

Meanwhile Orochimaru infiltrates the Uchiha's secret room, invokes the Shinigami through a mask taken from the Uzumaki Clan's Mask Storage Temple, and recovers his lost arms. To escape the wound the ritual reflects onto him, he transfers his consciousness into Suigetsu, then uses the remaining Zetsu spores to bring back the first four Hokage through Impure World Reincarnation.

Notes

The chakra cloaks handed out to the Alliance are coloured red here, unlike the yellow-orange shade seen in the manga. An animation slip removes Neji's eyebrows as Lee closes his fallen friend's eyes, and Obito appears in a few shots missing the glove on his right hand. The Ten-Tails' eye also loses its pupil during Shikamaru's shadow bind. A quiet parallel runs through the episode: Naruto remarks the village has barely changed while Sasuke observes it has changed greatly, each comment mirroring how much the two had grown since leaving at the close of Part I.
