The Sharingan Revived

The clash with Kaguya reaches a turning point when Naruto tears Black Zetsu away from her, punishing him for mocking Obito and pinning him in place. Nearby, Kakashi dwells on his own helplessness, haunted by past failures. In the afterlife, Obito asks Rin to grant him a little more time so he can stand beside his old comrade once more, and his lingering chakra rises from the ashes to wrap around Kakashi.

The reunion carries a final message. Obito urges Kakashi not to join him in death too soon and to take up the mantle of Sixth Hokage, sealing the sentiment with what he calls an early promotion present. That gift restores Kakashi's eyes and grants him a fully awakened Mangekyo Sharingan, turning him from a spent bystander into a decisive force in the battle.

Kaguya batters Sasuke aside, and Naruto answers with an amplified Rasenshuriken that throws her into an unstable tailed-beast transformation. When one of the flailing beast's arms lunges toward Sakura, Kakashi's newly formed Susanoo shields her and announces his return to the fight. As Kaguya conjures an enormous Truth-Seeking Ball and resurfaces, the copy ninja unleashes fresh Kamui-based techniques against her.

The team coordinates its final gambit. Naruto and a disguised shadow clone press the attack, Kakashi warps away an All-Killing Ash Bone strike from Black Zetsu, and Sasuke uses Amenotejikara to trade places with the clone just as Sakura lands a punch, daring Kaguya not to overlook her. With the opening secured, Naruto and Sasuke each make direct contact with Kaguya to complete the seal.

Episode 473 adapts chapters 688 and 689 during the Kaguya Otsutsuki Strikes arc, airing in Japan on 25 August 2016 and in English on 26 March 2019. Its opening theme is Blood Circulator and its ending is Pino and Amelie.

Several details diverge from the manga. Sakura shatters Kaguya's left horn with her punch in the original, yet the horn stays whole here. A continuity slip shows Black Zetsu's portal opening a second time right after it launches its weapon at the false Sasuke, and in one shot the Yin seal is missing from Sasuke's left hand.
