Who Are You?

Spurred on by Kurama, Naruto shifts into Tailed Beast Mode and drives at Tobi, while a shaken Kakashi struggles with what the masked man's identity might mean until Guy jolts him back to focus. Naruto declares he is far from alone, backed by Kurama, Killer B and Gyuki alongside Kakashi and Guy, and the reminder pulls Kakashi into the fight beside his old friend. Tobi answers with a rain of massive chakra receivers that pin B and Gyuki in place. Naruto sends a shadow clone ahead wielding a Rasengan while the original charges a Tailed Beast Ball under Gyuki's cover, but Tobi phases through the assault and retreats fully into his other dimension, where he spots the earlier clone and realizes Kakashi teleported not just the attack but the clone itself.

Given no room to counter, Tobi is struck by the clone's Rasengan and his mask breaks apart. Kakashi and Guy are stunned to recognize their fallen teammate, Obito Uchiha, thought to have died in the previous war. When Naruto demands to know who he is, Guy explains their shared history. Obito reveals that everything he has done stems from letting their other comrade, Rin Nohara, die. As Naruto rallies the devastated Kakashi, insisting Obito's plan to remake the world has to be halted, Obito lashes out with a fire technique that Naruto blocks using Kurama's tails. In that moment Madara arrives at Obito's side, catching the group off guard.

The episode adapts chapters 598 through 600 and sits within the Fourth Shinobi World War: Climax arc, delivering the long-anticipated unmasking of the man behind the Eye of the Moon Plan. Two minor animation slips are noted, including Obito's nose vanishing during a training flashback and a missing thumb on an examiner.
