Team Suien

Serving as the antagonists of the second Naruto original video animation, Mission: Protect the Waterfall Village, this outfit answers to Suien, a rogue ninja who abandoned the Hidden Waterfall. Rounding out the group are three defectors from the Hidden Rain, Kirisame, Murasame, and Hisame, backed by nine nameless foot soldiers.

Suien had once trained Shibuki, the son of the village's former leader, and he coveted the Hero Water that boosts the chakra and strength of Waterfall shinobi. Marshalling his Rain recruits and grunts, he stormed the settlement through its concealed entrance and seized hostages to pressure Shibuki into surrendering the water. Naruto Uzumaki ultimately broke the plot, using a swarm of shadow clones to hurl Suien over the falls to his death, after which the group fell apart.

Suien is the driving force and leader, a missing-nin whose greed set the whole conflict in motion. His three lieutenants, Kirisame, Murasame, and Hisame, came from the Rain. The tie-in light novel expands their fate, revealing that the trio lived through the assault of Suien's summoned creature Konenmaru, whereas the animated version simply shows them knocked unconscious by Shibuki's water attack.
