Lager is a mage of the Empire's Magic Special Forces, ranked among the most powerful spellcasters the nation can field. He appears at the Foundation Festival, where his friendly greeting is met with open hostility from the mage Sense.

Lager serves in the Empire's Magic Special Forces and wears the unit's regulation uniform, including an officer's cap stamped with its emblem. He stands among the mightiest mages the Empire can field.

Lager and Sense have a notably fraught relationship that runs hostile in one direction only. When the two lock eyes at the Foundation Festival ball, Lager offers a friendly greeting, but Sense responds with plain antagonism, drawing a finger across her throat.

The manga reveals little of Lager's inner character, though he comes across as good-natured, greeting even a hostile peer with warmth. After Sense's cold reception, his companion urges him not to let it get to him.

Lager keeps his pale hair gathered into a ponytail with long, loose bangs framing his face. He wears the regulation garb of the Magic Special Forces, including a collared belted tunic, a dark gem-fixed ascot, a caped collar, black gloves and boots, and an officer's cap bearing the unit's emblem.
