Milliarde

Like other elves, Milliarde has pointed ears. Her blonde hair is cropped short, its bangs swept to one side, and her eyes are a clear green. Round blue earrings sit at her ears, and she dresses in a long gown with a shawl fastened by a single clasp.

Detached and unhurried, Milliarde drifts through her days largely without aim, often lost in a vacant stare. She keeps the details of her past to herself and rarely stirs to do much of anything.

To pass idle hours before settling near Frieren's village, Milliarde once engraved a message in old elvish hailing Boshaft as the world's finest spirit, even though the liquor is genuinely unpleasant to drink. When Frieren later found her idling on a forest rock and commented on her listlessness, Milliarde explained the cause: she had once devoted herself to a long pursuit only to find the prize meaningless, and noted that elves dodge that emptiness by chasing something across their whole lives.

Centuries on, her carving caught the eye of Fass and launched his two-hundred-year hunt for Boshaft. When Fass shows the inscription to Frieren's party and begs help breaking the barrier shielding the drink's supply, Frieren, who knows Milliarde well, only relents under prodding from Fern and Stark. As she works the barrier loose, she remarks that some elves will go to absurd lengths to beat boredom, and that a life spent chasing Boshaft is effort wasted.
