Appearance

A centre-parted fall of light brown hair frames Ton's green eyes, and he stands notably tall. His layered outfit pairs a green and white garment, accented in darker green with billowing sleeves, over a long gray undershirt. The outer piece drops to the knees and opens at the front, rounded out by black trousers and flats.

Personality

Independent by nature, Ton keeps to himself and joins forces only when cooperation clearly pays off. A deep wariness of other people shapes his pragmatism, and he readily sizes up the danger that greener mages court inside the Ruins of the King's Tomb, a place where the inexperienced risk being spent as expendable bait. That same suspicion extends even to veterans, whom he is slow to rely on.

History

Ton gathers with the other applicants in Äußerst for the First-Class Mage Exam and lands in the first party beside Methode and Länge. Through the opening stage his group bests a rival party late on the second day and secures a Stille, finishing among the six teams to capture one of the creatures. He passes the intermission in town, soaking in a tub when the messenger birds arrive with instructions for the next stage.

The second trial unfolds within the Ruins of the King's Tomb. When Denken urges every examinee to join forces against the dungeon, Ton flatly refuses, distrustful of Denken and unwilling to be turned into a disposable pawn, so he sets off alone. He is later seen demoralized at an apparent dead end, then cornered by the Spiegel duplicates of Wirbel, Scharf, and Ehre. Escaping with a golem's aid, he fails the exam. His presence in the contest at least marks him as no weaker than a fifth-class mage.
