Voll is an aged dwarven warrior who has stood guard over a Klar Region village for close to four centuries, honoring a vow made to his late human wife. A longtime acquaintance of Frieren, he hides sharp combat instincts and quiet wisdom behind the manner of a forgetful old man.
Voll presents as a diminutive elder whose face is deeply creased, the lines heaviest around the eyes, framed by a flowing white beard and mustache. He goes about in armor topped by a visored knight's helm and a red cloak, and a broadsword serves as his weapon. Centuries earlier he carried far more bulk, broad through the shoulders and chest.
Sparing with words, Voll can seem like nothing more than a doddering old man, yet a capable and battle-tested warrior remains beneath the surface, driven by a fierce commitment to safeguard the village his late wife cherished. The years have eroded his recollection, recent events slipping away and blurring into older ones, until even his wife's face has faded from him. His curt way of speaking endures regardless, captured when he tells Frieren how glad he is to have seen her near the end of his days, the very thing he had said to her eighty years prior.
Long before the Hero Party set out, Voll wed a human woman and swore to defend the village she loved, a pledge he would keep for hundreds of years. About three centuries on, he crossed paths with that party during their march against the Demon King. Pressed by Himmel on why he protected the place, Voll dismissed it as an old tale, then reluctantly spoke of his wife while keeping the particulars to himself. Himmel assured him she would have treasured his devotion. When Voll offered to preserve the memory of Himmel for the future, the hero declined, noting that Eisen and Frieren could shoulder that task, and Frieren took it on willingly.
Some eighty years later, Voll receives Frieren again, now traveling with Fern, Stark, and Sein. He fails to place her at first, trades barbs with the group, and trips Stark with a sheathed blade to teach the young warrior about carelessness. Across the following week he trains Stark and shares many talks with Frieren, during one of which he admits he can no longer summon his wife's face, voice, or eyes, yet guards the village all the same. Learning the party is bound for Aureole in Ende, Voll promises to be carried into the future too, and tells Frieren he is content to have seen her at the close of his life. The next morning he sends her off, mentioning a dream he had of his wife. Villagers liken him to a guardian deity, and even in old age he fights with seasoned, underhanded skill honed over centuries against monsters and demons.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....
Voll often seems like a doddering, forgetful old man, since the centuries have eroded his memory, with recent events slipping away and even his late wife's face fading from him. Beneath that surface, however, he remains a capable, battle-tested warrior with quiet wisdom and remarkable recall of distant events.
