Founded by the great mage Serie, the Continental Magic Association governs spellcasters across the continent. It sets their ranks, administers the examinations that certify them, and decides where they are deployed, standing as the central authority over the mage world.
A guild gathers people who share a single trade or class under one banner. Frieren's world records several, among them associations for merchants, thieves, and mages, the last of which once issued spellcaster certifications back during the hero's journey.
The Magic Special Forces is the Empire's elite corps of battle-trained mages, raised to crush uprisings, especially those led by other spellcasters. Officially sanctioned by the state, its members specialize in combat magic that gives them an edge even over the continent's first-class mages.
The Norm Company is a trading house whose distribution network blankets the Northern Plateau, backed by its own armed wing, the Chivalric Order of Norm. Frieren calls it the region's true ruling power, answerable to no nation, and it once bankrolled the hero's party with a loan.
The Northern Magic Corps is a mercenary outfit working the far north under the first-class mage Wirbel. Built mainly around spellcasters, the band makes its name hunting demons, though it has also been pulled into wars between nations when crises demand it.
The Seven Sages of Destruction stood as a council of seven mighty demon mages who answered to the Demon King and his confidant Schlacht. Once his army's leading generals and the gravest danger mankind faced, all of their known members are now believed dead and the group long broken.
The Shadow Warriors are a covert order of fighters created to hunt mages, masters of hiding their own mana. Sworn to the Empire and never openly acknowledged, they worked chiefly as assassins until a former emperor ordered them disbanded.
